Watching the documentary “Heal” yesterday afternoon, I discovered the work of Kelly A. Turner, a researcher specializing in oncology. Intrigued by cases of remission, she went around the world to understand what processes were involved. Of the 75 factors put forward, she pinpointed 9 of them that had been implemented by all survivors. These 9 factors are:
- Radically changing your diet
- Taking control of your health
- Following your intuition
- Using herbs and supplements
- Releasing suppressed emotions
- Increasing positive emotions
- Embracing social support
- Deepening your spiritual connection
- Have a strong reason for living
Her study is based on the remission of cancer. Would it be the same for mental diseases? Maybe yes, maybe not. But, I must say that I could work on a number of these factors, if not all, because I see a “certain room for improvement”! So why not try? But how to do this practically? I just ordered her book (Kelly A. Turner, The 9 Keys to Remission). I hope to find some answers and will keep you informed of my progress.
